| Simon named junior coach of the year | ||

Congratulations to one of our junior coaches, Simon Hose, on being awarded the 2009 Junior Coach of the Year at the Geelong and District Coaches Association Coach of the Year awards. From the many nominations received, Simon was selected as one of five finalists before being announced as the winner and presented with his award by North Melbourne legend, Glenn Archer. This is fantastic recognition for the dedication Simon has shown to the club over a number of years as well as each and every child he coaches. Congratulations also to Under 12 coach Ray McPhee, who was short-listed as a finalist for this award. When two Grovedale junior coaches make the short-list of five finalists, you realise how lucky our children are to receive the high level of coaching they do. In addition, over the past 10 years, seven coaches from Grovedale have won junior coaching awards: Trevor Colbert, Scott Bond, Neil Vivian, Kevin Blain, David Fitzsimmons, Peter Wrzuiszcak and Jeff Shiell.
