Coalition commits $200,000 to Burdoo Reserve

Liberal candidate for Corangamite, Sarah Henderson, announced last weekend that if elected, a Federal Coalition government will deliver $200,000 for Stage 4 of the Burdoo Reserve sporting precinct.

Ms Henderson was delighted to make the announcement following our game against Geelong West last Saturday.

“This funding commitment will allow the Grovedale Sports Club to replace current lights and poles that are deteriorating and will soon be unsafe and unusable.  New lighting will also be far more cost effective to run and will reduce the financial burden of the facility’s power bill, currently $5,500 per quarter.”

Better quality lighting means we can use the ground for evening games, at both junior and senior levels, and will serve as a quality training venue for our players.

“I've been working closely with the various sporting clubs using the Grovedale facility to help realise their vision for the precinct. This lighting upgrade is now crucial to make this a first class facility well into the future.”  Ms Henderson said.

Both the City of Greater Geelong and the Victorian Government have recently contributed funds to the club enabling us to complete the building of our new clubrooms and also the upgraded kitchen area.
