We are fortunate to be able to welcome back to our club for the 2012 season our Irish import Ronan Steede. Ronan was a great asset to the club last year and we are very excited to be able to welcome him back.

Also joining Ronan this year is Mike Farragher.  Mike comes to us from Corofin GAA, where he has been playing full forward and in the midfield.  Mike and Ronan have played football together since they were in juniors together.

Some of his recent achievements include:

·         A member of the Galway 2011 U21 All – Ireland winning team

·         A member of the Galway “Dream Team” team 2010 (wing forward)

·         A winner of a Galway U21 player of the year award

·         He has won 15 County medals in Championship and league with Corofin GAA, and both County and Connaught Senior Championship with Corofin

·         A winner of an All-Ireland medal with Corofin GAA

·         10 Connaught medals and two County medals with St. Jarlaths College Football

We look forward to welcoming Mike into our club and helping him with his development and love for the AFL game.

SOCIAL ROOMS EXTENSIONS UPDATE - NOVEMBER 2011

For those of you that haven’t visited the Clubrooms lately, things have been moving along at a rapid pace.

Plastering has now been completed and next week will see the new men’s and disabled toilets also completed. Current planning also sees our new suspended acoustic ceilings being installed during the week commencing 7th of November.

We are having a huge working bee on Sunday the 6th of November to dismantle the current male and female toilets to allow construction of the new ladies toilets which we aim to have completed by the end of November.

The new cool room external walls and roofing have now been completed and the Bar upgrade will now begin in earnest as we modify it both internally and externally.

We are still negotiating with the State Government to install a new road at the Wingarra Drive entry to the rooms. The current asphalt has collapsed under the constant use of the School bus system and we are hoping to renew and widen this area before the start of the 2012 football season.

It is the aim of the building committee to provide written monthly updates which can be viewed on the Club’s website and also on the Club’s notice board in the Social Rooms and Netball Rooms.

In closing, we would like to thank Reg Hall, our Project Manager and his helpers for the great day to day job they are doing to keep the project on time and budget.

If you have any questions regarding the rooms please contact myself or Reg Hall (Construction Supervisor)

Reece Chadwick, Building Committee Chairman
